Day 42 - October 26th

After leaving Texas we made our way to New Orleans. It was very interesting to drive over these long bridges that connected land and see how high the water table was.

We drove downtown to see Bourbon Street.

We stopped and ate po-boy's (subs) in an outdoor restaurant with a live band.

We only walked around for a short time. The city was very crowded and hot.

We also walked over to see the Mississippi River which is huge in Louisiana compared to where it starts in Minnesota.

Before arriving in New Orleans Isaac and I decided it was time to cut our trip a little short and head home. My grandma was in the hospital and we knew that it was important to make our way home to spend time with her. We planned on driving from New Orleans straight to New Jersey but some bad weather in Alabama stopped us for the night (well it stopped me, and Isaac had to stop too). We were able to spend the night with the Nunnelly's again, and started driving early the next day. We are so glad we made it home in time to spend a little time with my Grandma.
We have been home for about a month now and are getting settled. I'm searching for a full time job and Isaac is registered to start school in January. For now we are both working part time and are really enjoying spending time with our families and friends.
