Day 12 - September 26th

Yesterday we went to Glacier National Park
(I set the timer up on this one.. whoops)
This was our first stop right near the visitors center. It was such a beautiful thing to see first thing in the morning.
We have more pictures from Glacier but they aren't loading right now. I will have to try again later tonight.

Day 11 - September 25th

Saturday morning we left North Cascades and drove to Spokane's Riverfront park. Isaac joined in on a little race that was going on.

We stopped to see this huge Radio Flyer!

It was actually a big slide. I had to push some kids out of my way but I tried it out!

Now we are sitting in a Subway in Idaho and will be driving to Glacier National Park for the night. Hopefully the internet will start to get better at the campgrounds and we can update this a little more.

Day 10 - September 24th

Before leaving Seattle we stopped quickly at Pike's Place Fish Market!

We have a video to show when we get home of the guy actually throwing the fish but for now you all can see this picture of a woman holding a fish.

After leave Seattle we drove to North Cascades National Park in Washington

There weren't many trails to walk on so we did a few scenic drives. The ice was so thick on the mountains. If you look closely you may be able to see the that it was actually a blue-ish color.

There were lots of waterfalls from where the snow was melting. We have been using the self timer on the camera but we were a little too far away this time.

This is Ross Lake. It was the last thing we saw before going to our campsite for the night. We have been staying at Kampgrounds of America almost every night. I'm starting to get a hang of this camping thing, but I'm excited to stop at someone's house or a hotel for sure!!

Day 9 - September 23rd

We arrived at the Space Needle just in time for our dinner reservation. The restaurant rotates, so as you eat you get a full view of the city and water surrounding it.

The food was delicious! I'm so glad that we took a break from our camping food and subway to eat a nice dinner!

After dinner we walked up to the observation deck. This is Isaac taking pictures of the view of the ground. (I stayed inside to look out)

After dinner we walked around the city looking for a place with WiFi. Unfortunately we had no luck BUT we passed this cool sculpture garden.

Day 8 and 9 - September 22nd and 23rd

After leaving Crater Lake we had a long day of driving to get to Olympic National Park and didn't get to the campsite until after dark.

On our way we drove through Forks Washington. This is Bella's truck from the Twilight movies!

On Thursday morning we left the campsite and went to explore Olympic National Park. It was cold and rainy.

After talking to a park ranger we decided to take a short hike to Marymere Falls. It was a short nice hike through some woods.

The most exciting part of the hike was (obviously) the waterfall!

After leaving Olympic we drove and took the ferry to Seattle.

This is the Space Needle, we ate dinner there on the 23rd!

Day 7 - September 21st

Tuesday afternoon we arrived at Crater Lake National Park.
The bright blue water in the lake is from rain and melted snow.
The crater was formed by a volcano that had a lava pit under it. When it erupted the volcano collapsed where the lave used to be.

It was so cold there that we watched the sunset and went right to sleep. When we woke up the moisture on our  was actually frozen.. brrr

When we were leaving on Wednesday morning we saw a lot of national park vechiles and media people around. We found out that sometime last week a car fell off a cliff and into the lake. Everyone was out of the car except a dog who jumped out and was fine. The news was there because they were planning on taking the car out of the lake that morning.

Day 6 - September 20 (continued)

After the Jelly Belly Factory we drove to the redwood forest. On the side of the road we stopped to drive through this big redwood tree. The tree is real and over 300 feet tall. The hole was cut in it in the 1930s! It was well worth the $5 to see it.
The car just fit through the tree!

Up near our campsite on the 101 there was this HUGE statue of Paul Bunyan.
(That's me under his foot!!)

We didn't really stop and walk around much as we were leaving the Redwoods but here are two pictures of the tall trees.

Day 6 - September 20

Monday morning we left Hayward and drove to the Jelly Belly Factory for a free tour!

We weren't allowed to take pictures during the tour but this is one from the store. In the factory they have a lot of mosaics of famous people made of jelly beans.

They made us wear these hats the whole time we walked through the factory.

My favorite part of the tour... free Jelly Belly's at the end.
(Zoz - thanks for the road atlas we've been using it the whole trip!)

Day 5 - September 19th

On Sunday we met up with Chris early in the morning and went to church with him. That afternoon I was able to catch up a little bit with Mary while the boys went to get pizza. It was so great just hanging out and relaxing for the day. We took their puppy to the dog park that afternoon and had ice cream at night. On Monday morning we woke up to Chris and Mary cooking us pancakes! I'm glad we were able to stay with them and hope they are able to come home soon!!

Day 4 - September 18

Saturday morning we headed to San Fran to site see and stay with Isaac's friend Chiang.
The first place we stopped was the 'Full House' house! I was SO excited to be there!
We met up with our friends Tim and Melina and walked over the Golden Gate Bridge
It was awesome to see but it was really really foggy.

We were looking forward to touring Alcatraz but the tickets were all sold out.
(that's the small island in the background to the left)
Next we all headed over to Lombard street.
It was very steep and curvy.
We had dinner at Pier 39 and then walked around the pier. We found this store for left handed people like me!
